Features & Design

When evaluating shaving lather bowls, there are several criteria to consider including:

1

Storage

Men’s wet shaving bowls are a bulky piece of equipment when compared to other toiletries, and most bathrooms are not well-equipped to conveniently store them. The Fine Lather Bowl is the first and only to support wall mounting.  It works especially well with easy-to-find 3M Command "Medium" Wire Hooks.

2

Grip

Working with a delicate item in wet and soapy conditions over a hard surface on a regular basis requires a tool that’s easy to hold on to. The handle on the Fine Lather Bowl is just right for slipping your thumb through while holding it in the palm of your hand.

3

Texture

When making a lather, a degree of texture in your bowl aids in more quickly aerating your soap or cream. The Fine Lather bowl features low-profile ribs for just this purpose.

4

Color

As you get to know the lathering properties of a particular soap or cream, you’ll appreciate the color contrast between a dark bowl surface and your pure white lather. All Fine Lather Bowls sport a dark-colored inner bowl.

5

Brush Handling

Traditional wet shaving generally requires multiple shaving passes. Between these lathers, your brush needs a home.

Ciotola Fine

Arrivata in neanche 24 ore. Ciotola promossa a pieni voti.

Works great!

This bowl makes great lather. The bumps on the bottom and sides really work well. Bowl is large enough that it can hold all the lather without spilling over. A little more pricey than my other bowls, but for a wet-shaving enthusiast like me, the improvement in the lather quality was definitely worth it. Better lather = better shave. It's nice and heavy and made of good quality stoneware, but try not to bump it in the sink - I'm not sure which would chip first.

this is a great shaving bowl

this is a great shaving bowl.It has a large handle the hole is big enough to put your thumb through and you can cup it in your hand Also it is light not heavy but the best is that it is super big area to whip up a lather i have a large brush and it is not banging the sides like my other bowl . You can even use the hole in the handle to hang it by a hook. you can also go to youtube and see the video on how well it works

I miss this lathering bowl! D:

God where did this thing disappear to? I recently moved, and wow I'm missing this. It's a great lathering bowl, ergonomic and great to hold. The hole at the top helps to hang it on the wall, keeping it organized and out of the way. I haven't compared this to other lather bowls, but I feel like it generates more lather than you'd expect.I dunno! I miss this! It was one of my favorite morning rituals at my old apartment! :(

First, "Lathering Bowl." So far i like it.

This is actually the first, "Lathering Bowl," I have owned so I hope this review is helpful. I have tried several bowls / mugs from my cupboard in addition to small stainless steel basins used in surgery without much success. At first I contributed it to my lack of experience Bowl Lathering, until I purposefully hammered in some ridges into one of the metal bowls and realized how much easier the soaps lathered in it compared to a smooth bottom / sided bowl. I purchased this bowl after it repeatedly showed up in my internet searches and reading the limited reviews. I received the bowl in a timely manner and couldn't wait to use it. As my luck has it, my face got very sunburned sitting outside watching a baseball game over the weekend and decided to wait a few days before shaving. Got to love the Mississippi Gulf Coast Winter Months (77 degrees and sunny).Well, this morning I filled the bowl with warm water and let my brush sit in it while showering. I decided to use my RazoRock Stallion Soap for the trial run. Dumped the water out, gave the brush a shake, loaded it up, and began to create a lather. NOW I see what a real lather should look and feel like. Created a very thick, robust lather. Very pleased with the results. As far as the brush rest on the handle. I tried it but just ended up resting the brush in the bowl. Hopefully I won't drop this bowl and break it. Someone needs to produce one like this in a hard, rubber. Now I need to go review the RazoRock Shaving Soap.

Nice, but nothing spectacular

I previously was using a small marble bowl for lather, and it was a bit too tall and narrow for my metal-base synthetic brush (constantly clanking on the sides). After getting this one, I loved the wider style and handle, and my ears definitely appreciate it. The lather is produced faster than on a smooth surface. I am unable to place my brush on the "holder" area due to its shape, so it often just drops in or sits outside of it.If you're getting your first bowl, this is definitely the way to go. If you already have a bowl that does the job, this is a nice upgrade, but doesn't do anything you wouldn't expect.

Great bowl

The item arrived safely and on time. I bought this to replace a old mug I was using. What a night and day difference. I wish I had bought this sooner. Shaving lather is generated much faster with the small ribs and the brush can lay in place on the handle. There is a small hole on the handle that can be used to hang the bowl. I am very happy with this product and would recommend it A+. This would make an excellent gift.

Works Great

Great for lathering soaps and creams. The brush handle is nice when the brush is filled with lather. The bowl is a good size and the ribs on the bottom seem to help make the lather quickly.

Do you use a brush to lather? If so, you NEED to consider this gem!

Got a favorite brush, cream (soap or whatever you use), and razor/blade combination? Then why do you not already have this thoughtfully designed, well crafted lathering bowl? It's got friggin' heft...I mean it's a solid piece of ceramic shaving kit. It's definitely well crafted, beautifully glazed, ergonomics are great, size is ample, but not over-done. Unlike mugs, and some bowls, is just deep enough to keep your lather contained, without needing a brush with a longer loft (I like using the same brush all the time, and it has a shorter loft). Like all ceramics, if you like your lather warm, this bowl retains heat nicely. It has well designed ridges, so it helps coax a good lather out of almost anything you can throw into it. Yes, it has a hole in the handle, and a handsomely finished underside - so if you hang it, it still looks pretty cool; nobody wants boring shaving stuff strewn about their bathroom walls.Get a better lather, and you get a better shave. Mr. Fine has this absolute gem of a bowl in their lineup, and it's worth YOUR time to give it due consideration.

Woah!!! I never knew soap could lather like this!

I am a woman and decided to take a stand against the pink tax and no longer buy girl razors. I was a Schick Intuition user for years. So when I started shopping around I realized that wet shaving was the way to go. Now I feel really good about consuming less plastic. I started this journey about 5 months ago. I bought the cheapest blade, brush, cup and soap I could find on Amazon. And I have been struggling with getting a good lather. I have watched numerous videos and read tons of blogs about lathering and I could not get the fluffy, thick lather that I kept seeing. I thought it was my soap (Arko shave soap). 2 weeks ago I was in Bed Bath and Beyond and saw Dr Bronner's shave soap. So I picked up a tube and still could not get a lather. I use Dr Bronner's bar soap and I know it lathers well. But I don't like shaving with it. Needless to say I returned it and was back on Amazon searching again. I came across this item on a search of scuttles (so expensive!) after a few videos recommended them. I cheaped out again and purchased this. I used it this morning and I LOVE THIS! This is the best shave I have had yet. My legs are so smooth and it was half the time it usually takes me to shave. I actually had extra lather when I was done. I am so happy I purchased this and didn't fall into the "expensive" soap is better rabbit hole. It isn't "pretty" to look at, but it works well. I know some will disagree, but this is review is from a beginner who was looking to be as inexpensive as possible.
